Local Hospital Receives Commitment to Quality and Excellence Award
Olney, Texas October 09, 2013 Olney Hamilton Hospital District has received the Commitment to Quality and Excellence Award from TMF® Health Quality Institute, the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization for Texas.
The Commitment to Quality and Excellence Award recognizes critical access hospitals in Texas that are publicly reporting performance data to promote transparency and improve health care in their communities. To receive the award, hospitals must report on one or more quality measures specified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
“Olney Hamilton Hospital District believes in making this information available to allow our community to make informed decisions about their health care,” said Michael Huff, CEO. “This step illustrates our hospital’s commitment to patients and to continually improving the quality of care we provide,” said Huff.
Hospital-reported data is available on Hospital Compare, a website that displays how well hospitals provide care to patients. The information is intended to assist consumers in making decisions about where to access their health care.
