In Memory of Michael Huff, CEO

The Olney Hamilton Hospital family is deeply saddened by the loss of our past administrator and CEO, Michael Huff.
Mr. Huff joined our organization in 2011, bringing with him a wealth of healthcare knowledge, experience, and insight. He immediately hit the ground running, as plans were already underway for the construction of our new Olney Family Clinic and Rehab & Wellness Center. Upon the completion of that project, however, his vision did not stop there.
Mr. Huff was passionate about bringing healthcare home to the people of Olney and the surrounding communities. He continuously worked to bring new programs, services, and physicians to our rural hospital so that patients and families would not have to travel out of town to receive the care they needed. His belief was simple but powerful: when you bring healthcare home, patients and families can heal faster—together, in their own community.
Throughout his tenure, Mr. Huff earned several distinguished awards and recognitions for his leadership and commitment to quality healthcare. One of the final recognitions during his tenure was a clean sweep in Quality, Outcomes, and Patient Perspectives, a prestigious national-level achievement that reflected the exceptional care being provided right here in our hometown. This was a tremendous accomplishment, and one that made him incredibly proud of the quality of care that could be delivered at Olney Hamilton Hospital.
Mr. Huff was a man of vision, compassion, and determination. He wanted to ensure that quality healthcare was not something our community had to leave town to find. He believed in the people of Olney, believed in our hospital, and believed in what was possible when a community came together with a shared vision.
His vision reached even further as plans for a brand-new hospital for Olney began to take shape. Mr. Huff worked tirelessly toward making that vision a reality. In April 2025, Olney Hamilton Hospital celebrated the groundbreaking of what will become our new, state-of-the-art hospital facility.
It pains us deeply that Mr. Huff will not be here in person to witness the dedication, ribbon cutting, and transition into our new facility when we go live in December 2026. Yet, his fingerprints are unmistakably woven into the foundation of this next chapter for Olney Hamilton Hospital.
His legacy will live on in the programs he helped establish, the healthcare professionals he brought to our community, the patients and families whose lives were touched by his work, and most importantly, in the continued commitment to quality healthcare close to home.
We ask that you please keep Mr. Huff’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the difficult road ahead.
While we mourn his loss, we can promise one thing:
His vision will continue.
His legacy will continue.
And our commitment to QUALITY will continue at Olney Hamilton Hospital.
Rest in peace, Mr. Huff. Your vision helped shape the future of healthcare in Olney, and we will carry that vision forward.
